“The past is like an anchor holding us back. You have to let go of who you are to become who you will be.” unknown
I think part of being able to let go of who you are is being open and willing to new things. Not only to be open to them but experience them. Is there a difference? Yes.
I think to see yourself in a new perspective is a part of it too. Not confining yourself to that tiny little box that you (or others) have put you in. It’s restricting, break free and be who you were meant to be.
To no longer say I can’t do that but try… and if you don’t succeed be willing to forgive yourself knowing it was only an experience… because you tried. I believe not trying is failure where continuing to keep on keepin’ on is success in and of itself.
The current cliche is to dance like no one is watching…. dance in the rain….. I think it is true…. but also… dance to the tune in your head… we all have a music score playing deep within and each score is unique. It doesn’t matter if someone else’s score is different than yours. And it doesn’t matter if you think you don’t have rhythm… if you dance to the musical score in your head, it works.
I think the biggest thing I have learned (and still trying to absorb and know it to be true and live it) is that what others think really really really doesn’t matter. In reality, they don’t pay much attention to us and at times, we are doing something that they wish they had the balls to do themselves. So be unique. Be you. Love much.
